Twitter: Social Media Success, or Fail Whale?
Twitter, the company behind the popular social media platform, has filed to IPO with a value of over $10 billion. Twitter’s 270 million users include presidents, celebrities, and the Pope, so Twitter has the credentials to go public. Not everyone, however, is bullish on the company. The Knotch community’s opinions on the service aren’t all positive, as many users struggle to understand the purpose of the 140 character limit and the unresponsiveness of their Twitter audience. Similarly placed concerns over Twitter’s shrinking user-base have some investors wary, but only the IPO will show whether the company’s financials are strong enough to eventually turn a profit.
